October 4, 2008Finnish cello quartet APOCALYPTICA stopped by the studios of the WJRR radio station in Orlando, Florida on Thursday (October 2) prior to the band's concert at the House of Blues for a private performance with some contest winners. Video footage of the performance — which included the group's current hit "I Don't Care", and covers of METALLICA's "Nothing Else Matters" and SEPULTURA's "Refuse/Resist" — can be viewed at this location.
APOCALYPTICA will perform at the Green Fingerprint Festival on October 11 at Jäähalli (Icehall) in Helsinki, Finland. Also scheduled to appear are THE SOUNDS and DON JOHNSON BIG BAND.
The festival is part of a nationwide Green Fingerprint campaign to raise awareness of conserving energy and combating climate change. APOCALYPTICA recruited FUEL frontman Toryn Green to handle lead vocals on the quartet's spring 2008 North American tour, which began on April 11 and concluded on May 19. The group initially enlisted Johnny Andrews, who co-wrote the band's single, "I'm Not Jesus", to sing on the trek, but Andrews was replaced after just a handful of shows. In addition to "I'm Not Jesus", Andrews also co-wrote another track called "S.O.S. (Anything But Love)". Both tunes are from APOCALYPTICA's new album, "Worlds Collide", which arrived in stores in the U.S. on April 15.
Other guests on "Worlds Collide" include SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor, LACUNA COIL singer Cristina Scabbia, drummer Dave Lombardo from SLAYER and vocalist Till Lindemann of RAMMSTEIN.
